Markus Heller (DE)
15.11.2022 - 31.01.2023
Markus Heller (*1986) is an artist living and working in Leipzig.
In 2014 Heller finished his studies in art with a focus on painting at the ABK Stuttgart with Prof. Peter Chevalier. After relocating to Leipzig Heller's work developed into digital graphics and animations. Ceramics in combination with other materials, such as found objects or concrete, established itself in his practice as a kind of "haptic balance" to the sterile work on the PC. In 2020, Heller began his studies as a master student in media art, first in the class of "Fine Arts" with Prof. Helmut Mark and then in the class of "Installation and Space" with Prof. Joachim Blank. In addition to participation in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout Germany and Europe, another part of Heller's practice is the development of new exhibition formats in collaboration with other artists. This resulted in numerous projects such as "That thing in my room", the ceramic media collective "Yung Potters" or a caravan as an exhibition space called "SunnyBrook Art Center".
