Fluid Grounds
Delta Δ is a type of landform that is caused by the deposition of sediments where the sea and a river meet. The various forms of deltas are maintained as sediments which continue to accumulate and wash away. Delta responds flexibly to unpredictable situations and varying natural phenomena, endures its existence, and adapts to the environment. The change and expansion of the existing way of thinking have accelerated as we face the non-contact era. Nine artists who grew up in various environments and backgrounds met based on three cities; Leipzig - Berlin - Hamburg. They adapt to the changing reality where they currently reside and regard the world with a flexible attitude of perception. Interaction with each other, while the paradigm is altering, has been expanded to on- and offline space. Their every artistic practice and research form another stratum of this era. It is still uncertain whether they will leave a trace in the strata of the times. Through a series of three exhibitions happening in Leipzig, Berlin and Hamburg, the group will review and experiment with the limitations and potential of our current reality. Aiming to create metaphorical sedimentary layers to eventually form solid ground, the first exhibition will take place at the a&o Kunsthalle in Leipzig. Following the direction of the stream towards the sea, the subsequent exhibitions will take place in Berlin and Hamburg and form a current of cultural exchange within the Delta.
